Man Rescued From Burning Home In Rogers Park
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Firefighters rescued a 53-year-old man from a blaze in Rogers Park Tuesday morning.
The Fire Department responded sometime before 8:45 a.m. to the fire in the 6500 block of North Newgard Avenue.
When firefighters arrived, the building was located up, and they had to break through the door, according to the Fire Department.
Inside the building, they found and rescued a 53-year-old man. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was reported in stable condition with smoke inhalation injuries, fire officials told CBS 2 and the Sun-Times Media Wire.
No other injuries were reported.
The tree-lined block where the fire broke out is composed largely of single-family frame houses and two-and three-flat apartment buildings.
