Sub-Freezing Temps Could Arrive Overnight

CHICAGO (STMW) - It could be back to reality for early April -- complete with freezing temperatures.

The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Watch for the entire Chicago area that will remain in effect until Friday morning.

Temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 20s and low 30s by early Friday morning for areas away from the city, the weather service said.

These conditions could kill crops and "sensitive vegetation," the weather service said, advising that people take steps to protect plants.
