Bears Reach Deal With CB Jonathan Wilhite

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (CBS) – The Chicago Bears have reached a one-year contract with cornerback Jonathan Wilhite.

Wilhite  will be entering his fifth NFL season in 2012. He was a fourth-round selection (129th overall) of the New England Patriots in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Auburn. He spent four seasons in New England (2008-10), appearing in 54 contests with 15 starts, gathering 134 tackles, four interceptions, 11 pass break-ups, two sacks and three special teams stops, the Bears said in a news release.

The 5-foot, 11-inch  Wilhite, at 185 pounds, spent the 2011 season with the Denver Broncos, playing in 15 games with two starts, recording 26 tackles, two sacks, one interception, two pass break ups and three special teams stops, the Bears said.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
