Blackhawks Sign Emery To 1-Year Extension
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Blackhawks and goalie Ray Emery have agreed to a one-year contract extension.
Emery, 29, has a 15-9-4 record this season with a 2.81 GAA and .900 save percentage in 34 games with the Blackhawks. He served mostly as a backup to Corey Crawford, but took over the number one goalie position for a couple stretches during the season when Crawford was struggling. Crawford, however, finished the season strong and re-established himself as the starter.
Emery was especially strong at the United Center, where he never lost a game in regulation. He compiled a 10-0-3 record in Chicago with a 2.15 GAA and .918 save percentage.
Terms of his extension were not released by the Blackhawks, but news reports indicated the one-year deal was worth $1.15 million.
