CHICAGO (STMW) — A woman was killed when she was shot while on a second-floor balcony in the Southwest Side Brighton Park neighborhood.

The 28-year-old woman was on the a second-floor balcony at 11:55 p.m. in the 4000 block of South Albany Avenue when a male fired shots from the street, police said.

She was shot in the lower back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office has been notified of her death.

No one is in custody and Area Central detectives are investigating.
