ATM Stolen From Downtown Garage

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Police say some bold thieves made their own cash dash Monday morning downtown.

As WBBM Newsradio's Bernie Tafoya reports, police say an ATM was stolen from a downtown garage early Monday morning. It was not only the money inside the machine that was stolen, but the entire machine itself.

Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said the theft happened sometime after 4 a.m. in a parking garage at 180 N. Franklin St., in the northwest sector of the Loop area.

Police say the ATM was loaded onto a moving truck and taken away.

It is unclear how much money, if any, was in the ATM.
