PEORIA, Ill. (CBS) -- Illinois State Police have issued an AMBER Alert about two missing babies who were abducted by their mother in Peoria Thursday morning.

Police said 1-year-old Moriah Milan and 2-month-old Audermar Peterson were abducted from 330 SW Washington St. in Peoria at 10:20 a.m. Thursday.

The children were taken by their non-custodial mother, Nyway Abbaa, 20, police said.

Police said, after Abbaa took the children, they were last seen headed north on Hamilton Boulevard in downtown Peoria, in a green Mercury station wagon. Police said the vehicle has an Illinois license plate, with the plate number P487981.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts should call 911.
