Thief Breaks Into Dollar Store With Compact Loader

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A thief used a stolen Bobcat mini excavator to smash through a West Side dollar store Friday morning.

Police said the thief took the Bobcat from a construction site a block away and used it to break through the front window of a dollar store on the 5400 block of West Chicago Avenue.

Police responded to an alarm at the store when they caught the suspect near the scene. Additional details were not immediately available.
