Cubs Recall Travis Wood, Place Castillo On DL

(CBS) The Chicago Cubs today placed catcher Welington Castillo on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to May 19) with an MCL sprain in his right knee and recalled left-handed pitcher Travis Wood from Triple-A Iowa.

Wood, who will wear uniform number 30, will make the start for the Cubs tonight against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.

The 25-year-old Wood begins his second stint with the Cubs this season, as he recorded a no-decision in Chicago's 11-inning, 4-3 victory vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 6.  The southpaw limited the Dodgers to three runs on three hits and three walks in 6.0 innings, fanning four.  Wood was optioned back to Iowa the next day.  He has made seven starts with Iowa, going 3-3 with a 4.57 ERA.
