(CBS) The Cubs activated catcher Steve Clevenger from the disabled Tuesday and optioned Blake Lalli to Triple-A Iowa.

Clevenger went on the disabled list April 28 with a right oblique strain. The left-handed catcher just completed a five-game rehab assignment with the Iowa Cubs, hitting .462 (6-for-13) with two doubles and one home run. Before his injury, Clevenger was batting .500 (11-for-22) with the Cubs.

Lalli was 2-for-15 in six games with the Cubs.
