Schuster: Danks Brothers Reunite In The Majors

By David Schuster-

(CBS) The realization of a dream finally has come true for the Danks brothers.

With the call up of Jordan Danks, now ma & pa Danks have both of their sons on the current White Sox roster.

Jordan joins big brother John, who couldn't be more happy.

"This has been a hope of ours for a long time now," John said. "Hopefully he plays well and makes for a tough decision on some people.

"He has worked hard and made a lot of improvements in his game. He's had a great season to this point at Charlotte. And I'm sure some people will say that he's getting all these shots because he's my brother, but that comes from people who have not seen him play."

Jordan is up with the White Sox because of Kosuke Fukudome going on the disabled list with a sore rib cage.  The younger Danks is thankful for the opportunity.

"Like anybody else called up I'm just happy to be here," Danks said before the White Sox took on the Blue Jays on Thursday night. "One day you're in Toledo and the next you're up here. It's crazy and I still can't believe it."

And just like his big brother, Jordan is happy to be reunited with his sibling.

"We've been waiting for it for a while," Jordan said. "It's funny because we have been doing the same interviews  for the last three years, but now it's finally here and it feels good."

And how does manager Robin Ventura plan on using the left handed hitting outfielder?

"It's his first time up here, and I'd like to get him in there as quick as I can," Ventura said. "I'd like to find the right situation that fits and get him in there."

And the family tree will grow on Friday when Mama Danks comes to Chicago to see both her boys play on the same team for the first time since their high school days down in Texas.
