Get Ready For Highs In The 90s Through Next Wednesday

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Get the air conditioner in the window and make sure your ice tray isn't empty, because it's going to feel tropical outside for the better part of a week to come.

CBS 2 Meteorologist Mary Kay Kleist says it was already 83 degrees at O'Hare International Airport, 82 at Midway and 84 at the lakefront at 11:20 a.m. The wind is from the due south, so there is no lake breeze to keep anyone cool.

The forecast high for the day is 92 under sunny skies, and it will be a steamy 86 when the Cubs throw out their first pitch against the Boston Red Sox at Wrigley Field at 1:20 p.m.

Overnight, the low only drops to 70, and afterward, daytime highs will be in the 90s not just through the weekend, but all the way up through next Wednesday.

The high for Saturday is 94 as a hot wind blows in from the Deep South. The high for Father's Day on Sunday is 90, with a chance of pop-up thunderstorms.

The high for Monday is 92, Tuesday 93, Wednesday 92 again, and at last on Thursday, 89 with a chance of rain.
