CHICAGO (CBS) – Chicago police say they arrested ten gang members and seized drugs and weapons Friday night in a bust in the Englewood neighborhood.

Police returned to the scene this morning, talking to residents and offering city services.

The First Deputy Police Superintendent, Alfonsa Wysinger says one of the guns was an assault-type weapon.

He says going door-to-door, as officers and city workers were doing this morning, is a way police are working with neighbors to take streets back one block at a time.

Its a relatively new police strategy.

Residents of the area where the bust occurred are invited to a meeting on Tuesday night to share ideas on how to keep the drug-dealers off the corners.
