Rash Of Robberies Plagues Little Village

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police have issued a community alert for the Little Village neighborhood in the wake of a rash of robberies.

As WBBM Newsradio's Dave Marsett reports, all the victims have been men between the ages of 18 and 38.

Police say a group of robbers have approached the victims on foot, pushed them to the ground, then beat them and forcibly took their wallets and cell phones.

On June 1 at 4:25 p.m. a 24-year-old man was robbed in the 2100 block of South Central Park Avenue; On June 4 at 2:17 p.m., a 20-year-old man was robbed in the same block; On June 13, at 8 p.m., a 38-year-old man was robbed in the 2300 block of South Pulaski Road, and on June 14 at 8:20 p.m., an 18-year-old man was robbed in the 2200 block of South Central Avenue, the alert said.

Police warn residents to be on alert.
