Truck Slams Into Restaurant-Bar Building Near Orange Line Tracks

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A semi-trailer truck slammed into building that houses restaurant-bar at Western Avenue and Pershing Road.

As CBS 2's Kris Habermehl reports, the truck crashed into the building at 3900 S. Western Ave., alongside the Orange Line CTA tracks.

The building houses Cha Cha's, a Mexican restaurant and bar that Yelp reviews say is known for professional bikini-clad dancers.

There were no reports of major injuries, but the building did sustain serious structural damage.

As of 6:15 a.m., a fire battalion chief was on the scene, and a private tow truck was poised to haul the semi away.

The vehicle that hit the building was a single unit, blue-axle truck that appeared to be intended for carrying a roll-on dumpster.
