18-Year-Old Man Shot And Killed In Archer Heights

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was fatally shot Thursday evening in the Archer Heights neighborhood on the Southwest Side, police said.

The man was shot in the chin about 5:05 p.m. in the 4800 block of South Hamlin Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety said, citing preliminary information.

The man was initially taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was dead on arrival, police said.

Area Central detectives are investigating the homicide, but no one was is in custody as of early Thursday evening.
