CHICAGO (STMW) – A man was shot dead in the Fuller Park neighborhood Tuesday afternoon on the South Side, police said.

The 26-year-old man was shot multiple times about 4:05 p.m. in the 5400 block of South Wabash Avenue, said police News Affairs Officer Darryl Baety, citing preliminary information.

The man was initially taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 4:55 p.m., police said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
