Woman Plunges Car Into Pond In Schaumburg

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (CBS) -- A red-faced driver got an unplanned dunk with her car in a Schaumburg pond on Wednesday afternoon.

As WBBM Newsradio's John Waelti reports, police say it happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday, near the 2500 block of Brush Road in Schaumburg.

The driver accidentally hit the gas and plowed her car into a pond near an apartment complex.

The driver was able to get out of her car, and some passersby assisted her back to shore.

With some embarrassment, but no apparent injuries, the woman watched crews tow her car out of the water.

There were no other occupants in the car.
