Teen Shot, Wounded In Front Of St. Francis Hospital In Evanston

EVANSTON, Ill. (CBS) -- A teen was shot and wounded over the weekend right in front of St. Francis Hospital in Evanston.

Evanston police responded around 5:20 p.m. Sunday to calls of shots fired in the 800 block of Austin Street. They found the injured man, 19, around the corner at the base of the emergency room ramp on the north side of Saint Francis Hospital, police said in a release.

The Chicago man was shot twice in the leg and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting is believed to be gang-related, according to police.

St. Francis Hospital happens to be the facility that treats most gunshot victims in Evanston, as well as Skokie and Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood.

No one was in custody in the shooting as of midday Monday.
