School Bus Flips In Hit-Run Accident, Driver Injured

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A school bus driver was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Bartlett on Thursday.

Shortly before 9 a.m., a car struck the School District U-46 bus at the Route 20 and Oak Avenue, causing the bus to flip.

There were no students on board.

The driver of the car fled on foot, and the Bartlett Police Department asked three nearby schools to keep children indoors as a precaution.

The three affected schools are Independence Early Learning, Bartlett Elementary and Eastview Middle School.

The bus driver was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with a head injury.
