Man Dies After Minivan Hits Pole On West Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man died after he crashed his minivan into a light pole early Sunday in the South Lawndale neighborhood.

The man was found unresponsive on the scene after he crashed his 2002 Dodge Caravan into a pole in the 4300 block of West 31st Street, according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer. The crash happened about 3:15 a.m.

He was alone in the car, Greer said.

An autopsy Sunday determined that Juan Ceballos, 33, of the 3100 block of South Kedvale Avenue, suffered multiple injuries from a minivan striking a light pole and his death was ruled an accident, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
