Several People Treated After Chlorine Leak At Warrenville Gym Is Reported

WARRENVILLE, Ill. (STMW) -- Paramedics were treating up to 12 people after a chlorine leak was reported Friday evening at a gym in west suburban Warrenville, officials said.

Authorities received a call about the leak at the Lifetime Fitness located in the 28000 block of Diehl Road about 5:55 p.m., Warrenville Fire Protection District Capt. Herb Myers said.

The leak was located near a swimming area at the gym, Myers said, adding that between 10 and 12 people required treatment at the scene. None of their injuries are believed to be life threatening, Myers said. It was not clear how many people were hospitalized as of 7 p.m., Myers said.

Messages left with the gym were not immediately returned Friday night.
