City Plans O'Hare Road Construction

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The city is beginning roadwork for the main entrance to O'Hare International Airport.

Work on both the east and westbound routes along Interstate 190--between Bessie Coleman Drive to the airport terminals--began on Monday.

The roadway resurfacing work will be completed during nightly lane closures starting between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Completion is anticipated by Nov. 15.

The improvements include resurfacing of the I-190 roadway and Bessie Coleman Drive ramps, curb and gutter repairs, median removal and replacement and drainage structure repairs.

The project is expected to have little to no impact on daily traffic conditions for motorists entering and exiting O'Hare International Airport.
