CHICAGO (CBS) — A man was shot and killed Tuesday morning in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side.

The victim was shot in the back and buttocks around 10 a.m. in the 6100 block of South Woodlawn Avenue, police said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, and was later pronounced dead.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office was not yet releasing the victim’s identity as of Tuesday afternoon, but the Chicago Tribune reported he was a former employee of CeaseFire, a local violence prevention program.
