Clouds To Give Way To Sunshine, Highs In Upper 60s

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The clouds hanging over the lakefront will give way to sunshine Friday afternoon, making for a comfortable end to the day with seasonable temperatures.

CBS 2 Meteorologist Ed Curran says as of 11:20 a.m., it was 61 at O'Hare International Airport, 63 in Waukegan, 67 at Midway International Airport, 64 at Gary and Valparaiso, Ind., and 65 at Kankakee.

Pesky clouds were blocking out the sun – particularly along the lakefront. But Curran says those clouds will dissipate later in the afternoon. The forecast high is 69.

Overnight, the low drops to about 50, and on Saturday, conditions will be sunny and warmer with a high of 75. But in the afternoon, a wind will come off the lake and cut the temperature.

On Sunday, the high will hit 67. And if you're attending the Step out for Diabetes Walk at Didier Farms in Buffalo Grove Sunday, expect a temperature of 62 degrees when the walk steps off at 10 a.m. Registration for the walk is at 8:30 a.m.

The high for Monday is 73, Tuesday 75, Wednesday a summery 80, and Thursday 77.
