Lake In The Hills Man Guilty Of Molesting 11-Year-Old Girl

WOODSTOCK (CBS) -- An 11-year-old girl's suicidal feelings started an investigation that led to a Lake in the Hills man being convicted this week of sexually abusing her.

Robert Lucht, 56, was found guilty Wednesday of three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and one count of the offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The jury had deliberated for two hours.

McHenry County State's Attorney Louis Bianchi said in a press release that the case had been investigated by the Lake in the Hills Police Department.

The victim of the assaults was an 11-year-old girl who was admitted to a hospital for suicidal intentions and for harming herself. She then reported that she had been sexually assaulted by the defendant multiple times between the ages of 7 and 9.

When the defendant was confronted with the allegations by the police, testimony showed, he gave a written confession admitting he assaulted the child.

Lucht is to be sentenced Nov. 20. He faces a minimum sentence of 21 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
