Sources: Off-Duty Cop Accused Of Buying Pot For 3 Teen Girls

CHICAGO (CBS) -- CBS 2 has learned a Chicago police officer is being investigated for allegedly supplying a group of minors with marijuana while he was off-duty.

CBS 2's Mai Martinez reports the officer is accused of picking up three teenage girls last week, and buying marijuana for them.

Sources said the officer was off-duty at the time, and driving his personal vehicle.

One of the teens claimed the officer then drove her and her friends to the lakefront, where they smoked the pot. The officer later bought them food, and then crashed his car.

Sources said the teens got out before the officer allegedly drove off.

One of the teens told an adult relative about the accident, and they reported it to police. They also provided personal items belonging to the officer, to try to prove they were in his company.

A spokesperson for Chicago police said the department is aware of the accusations, and the matter is currently under investigation.

The department is not commenting further than that at this point.
