Report: Vanderbilt Pulls Out Of Games Against Northwestern
(WSCR) In a surprising move, Vanderbilt has canceled its scheduled football games against Northwestern for the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
According to a report from the Chicago Tribune, Vanderbilt made the decision without first consulting the Wildcats. The Tribune also reports the timing of the move could be related to the release of the 2013 SEC schedule, which will feature changes to cross-division rivalries.
The 2013 game was scheduled for Sept. 14 in Nashville. The 2014 game would have been played in Evanston on Sept. 13. Northwestern is now forced to find new opponents for both games.
