Couple Sues, Claims Bad I-Pass Ruined Credit Rating
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Northwest Indiana couple says the I-Pass in their rental car wrecked their credit rating and now they're suing.
Judith and Paul Gayner of Porter County say they didn't know the I-Pass in the car they rented from Ally Financial wasn't working.
As a result, they missed paying $86 in tolls.
But in a lawsuit, they allege that since the rental company never let them know about the problem, the penalties kept growing until finally they got a bill for over $2,000.
They settled with the Tollway Authority but now are suing Ally for turning the matter over to a debt collector and reporting the matter on their credit report.
