Cubs' Garza Cleared To Begin Offseason Program

(WSCR) A scan a Cubs right-hander Matt Garza's right shoulder showed he was healing normally from his stress reaction injury, and team doctors said he can begin his offseason workout program.

The Cubs are hopeful Garza will be ready in time for spring training, which begins Feb. 9.

After the positive news, Garza tweeted his excitement: "I'm cleared for takeoff!! Strap it on tight cause we are going on one helluva ride. #getitdone #freedom #2013.
