Law Firm Takes Aim At Nativity Scene For Arlington Heights

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A law firm that specializes in fighting for nativity scenes in public spaces is setting its sights on Arlington Heights.

The Thomas More Society says the nativity scene is a constitutionally protected, privately sponsored and funded expression of religious belief.

The Arlington Heights Park District says it doesn't fit with its toy-themed display at North School Park.

The park district says it only uses its own property for such displays.

The Thomas More Society argues the existing display already includes Hanukkah dreidels.

The society says it is prepared to go to court over the issue.
