Cutler Fined $10,000 For Flipping Ball At Opponent

(WSCR) A 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty wasn't Jay Cutler's only punishment for flipping the ball at a Vikings defender after the quarterback picked up a first down.

According to a report from the Tribune, Cutler has been fined $10,000 by the league for his actions.

Special teams standout Eric Weems also told the Tribune he was fined $7,875 for striking A.J. Jefferson on the previous play.

Weems, though, plans to appeal the fine.

"Heck yeah, I'm going to appeal it,'' he said Friday. "I can't just give it to them. I've got to appeal. They said I hit the guy late, which it was during the play.

"Of course I'm going to contest that once I get the video from them. I don't see how I hit the guy late. And I didn't get a penalty, either. So I don't see how that works.''

In addition to the fines from Cutler and Weems, Brian Urlacher was fined $15,750 for a horse-collar tackle on Adrian Peterson while Henry Melton was fined $7,875 for grabbing Peterson's facemask. Both players intend to appeal.

Vikings defensive end Jared Allen was also fined $21,000 for his hit on Lance Louis.
