(CBS) — Derrick Rose’s highly anticipated return to the Chicago Bulls could happen sooner than expected, the Sun-Times is reporting.

Citing an NBA source, the paper said the Bulls haven’t determined when Rose could be playing during regular games, but he could be practicing within weeks.

That’s good news for Chicago, which has struggled this season without its marquee player. Rose had a devastating injury during the playoffs and had his left anterior cruciate ligament repaired in May.

Rose had been expected back on the court by February.
