WAUCONDA (CBS) — Joe Walsh hosted his final Town Hall meeting in front of a supportive crowd of 200 in Wauconda.
The self-proclaimed “poorest member of Congress” says he needs a job in January.
But he refused to rule out a return to politics and mused about running for governor or for the U.S. Senate.
“It would be kind of fun to run against Dick Durbin, wouldn’t it,” said Walsh.
He was as opinionated as ever, saying that Democrats want to be Santa Claus and that many of his fellow Republicans lack backbone and need to get it.
He expects a deal to be cut to avoid going over the so-called fiscal cliff, but expects two more years of fighting in Washington after that.
And he says Mitt Romney’s biggest mistake was refusing to embrace his wealth and making no apologies for it.
