(CBS) – Twinkies are calling you from beyond the grave.

Supermarket chain Jewel-Osco announced many of its Chicago-area stores will get final shipments of Hostess products on Tuesday, even though the bakery company last month opted to liquidate amid financial and labor problems. Remaining snack cakes sold out virtually overnight.

And this newest batch is expected to go fast, too. Early Tuesday morning, customers at the Jewel on Irving Park Road in the Portage Park neighborhood were loading up on Hostess treats, including Twinkies, Zingers and Ding Dongs.

Some shoppers planned to sell them on E-Bay, while others were buying them as stocking stuffers for their families.

The Itasca-based grocer says more than 20,000 boxes of Twinkies will be available at Jewel-Osco stores beginning Tuesday morning, at regular prices until supplies last.

Other Hostess products, including Ding Dongs, Zingers and Orange Cupcakes will also be on the shelves, however fleetingly.

Jewel says it won't impose limits on how many Hostess products customers can buy.
