Bears Sign Olindo Mare As Robbie Gould Placed On IR

(CBS) The Bears suffered significant losses Tuesday after the team placed kicker Robbie Gould (calf), special teams ace Sherrick McManis (knee) and backup safety Craig Steltz (chest) on injured reserve.

All three players suffered their injuries during Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

To replace Gould, the Bears signed 16-year veteran Olindo Mare, who most recently kicked for the Carolina Panthers last season. Linebacker Jerry Franklin was also signed and wide receiver Joe Anderson was elevated from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

The Bears also waived guard Andre Gurode and signed guard Chris Riley to the practice squad.
