Man Dead, Woman Injured In East Side crash

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man is dead and a woman was injured Tuesday after a crash on the East Side.

The two-vehicle crash occurred about 10:40 a.m. in the 3300 block of East 100th Street, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

A male driver was dead at the scene, Estrada said.

The other driver, a 50-year-old woman, was taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Estrada said.

Initial police reports indicate one of the vehicles went into the opposite lane of traffic, causing a head-on collision.

The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
