CHICAGO (CBS) -- Prosecutors say a serial drunken driver was knocking on the prison door to get in.

Now, a judge is sending him there.

Glen Higginbotham Jr., 34, of Yorkville spent eight years in prison after he slammed into a car in Lockport in 1999.

Candace Graham, a 10-year-old passenger in that car, was killed.

On the night of the crash, Higginbotham was going over 80 miles an hour and had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

Since then, he's been arrested twice more for drunken driving.

His lawyer said he's remorseful, but Will County state's attorney Jim Glasgow said Higginbotham's a menace who failed to learn even the smallest lesson.

A judge agreed and has sent him back to prison for another eight years.
