Evanston Man Strikes Teen With Gun, Fires Shots At Others
EVANSTON, Ill. (STMW) -- A man accused of striking a teenage boy with a gun and firing shots at two other people Saturday in north suburban Evanston is being held on $100,000 bond.
Lanord Miles allegedly struck a 17-year-old Chicago boy in the head with a gun then fired shots at a man and woman, both 21, about 7 p.m. near Dempster Street and Fowler Avenue, Evanston police said.
Miles, 20, of the 1300 block of McDaniel Avenue in Evanston, was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery, Evanston police said.
No weapon was recovered but a shell casing and bullets were found at the scene, according to police.
Miles was ordered held on $100,000 bond and remained in Cook County Jail Tuesday afternoon, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office. He will be back in court Thursday.
