Harold Washington Statute Defaced In Bronzeville
CHICAGO (STMW) -- The statue of the late Chicago Mayor Harold Washington was damaged when the front panel containing the dedication plaque was stolen Saturday evening in the Bronzeville neighborhood.
The front panel of the statute was stolen outside the Harold Washington Cultural Center at 4701 S. King Drive, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives.
