Illinois Hires New Director Of Player Personnel

(CBS) -- Illinois has hired Marcus Berry as its new director of player personnel, according to a news release by the university.

In this role, Berry will assist recruiting efforts. Berry spent the past four seasons in the same role with the University of North Carolina.

"Marcus Berry is an exciting addition to our staff as the director of player personnel," Beckman said. "Marcus has great experience evaluating and analyzing players, which will only help the Fighting Illini football program get better,"said Illinois Head Football Coach Tim Beckman in the release. "I've known Marcus for more than 10 years, and he has always had great attention to detail and a keen eye for talent. He did a fantastic job at UNC in the same capacity. Marcus will provide some outstanding assistance in educating our coaching staff and evaluating talent as we continue to move this program forward."

Berry also worked for the Washington Bullets for four years.
