CHICAGO (CBS) — A state trooper had to be cut out of the squad car Thursday after a serious multi-vehicle collision in west suburban Wheaton.

The trooper, according to a witness, rammed the back of a woman’s car.

She moved off the road and the trooper continued on into Wheaton hitting a number of other cars at Geneva road and Gary Avenue.

A fire department source said it is believed that the trooper had a medical emergency, which caused the crashes.
