VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) — Sultan Muhammad hit a 3-pointer with 1.7 seconds remaining as Green Bay defeated Illinois-Chicago 64-63 in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League tournament on Friday night.
Two free throws from Gary Talton capped an 11-3 run that gave Illinois-Chicago a 63-61 lead with 7 seconds left. The fifth-seeded Flames (17-15) got 23 points from Hayden Humes and 12 apiece from Josh Crittle and Talton.
Humes scored seven straight points to erase a six-point Phoenix lead and put Chicago ahead 59-58 with 3:05 remaining.
