Judge Upholds Firing Of Drew Peterson's Son By Oak Brook PD

DUPAGE COUNTY, Ill. (CBS) -- 33-year-old Stephen Peterson was fired by the Oak Brook Police Department over his actions when his father Drew was being investigated for the disappearance of Stacy Peterson.

A police commission said he had given contradictory testimony and took three weapons from his father's Bolingbrook home. Now DuPage County Judge Terence Sheen has upheld the dismissal.

"We are disappointed," said Tamara Cummings, Stephen Peterson's lawyer. "We certainly are going to explore options and including the option of appealing to the appellate court."

Since his firing, Stephen Peterson hasn't worked and is raising his own child along with his father's younger children.

Drew Peterson is in prison for the murder of Kathleen Savio. In a separate action, Stephen Peterson has a $10 million lawsuit pending against the Oak Brook Police Department for firing him.
