Man Shot While Walking Dog In Humboldt Park Area

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 23-year-old man was wounded in an early morning shooting Saturday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

The man was walking his dog in the 3900 block of West Thomas Street about 2:20 a.m. when he was shot, police said.

He suffered gunshot wounds to the wrist, shoulder and back, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, according to police.

The shooting may have been gang-related, since the victim has gang affiliations, according to police.

Area North detectives are investigating.
