Two Teens Injured In Gang-Related Shooting On Near West Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two 17-year-old boys were injured when gunfire rang out during a gang-related dispute in the McKinley Park neighborhood early Monday, police said.

The two teens were in the 1700 block of West 38th Street when a gunman approached and opened fire about 12:35 a.m., said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

One of the teens, shot in the chin, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was listed in serious condition, police said.

The other was taken to Mercy Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right ankle. He was listed in good condition, police said.

No one was in custody early Monday as Area Central detectives investigated.
