3 Children Hurt In East Side Fire

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Three children were hospitalized after a fire Monday night on the city's East Side near the state line.

The small fire erupted in a home in the 10800 block of South Avenue F at about 11:48 p.m., according to Chicago Fire Media.

A 5-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy were all taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in good condition, according to Chicago Fire Media. The children were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure but were not injured in the fire, according to Chicago Fire Media.

The fire was extinguished a short time later.
