Three Hurt When Squad Car Hits School Bus In Bronzeville; Kids Safe

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Three adults were hospitalized Tuesday morning, but no kids were hurt, when a police SUV and a school bus collided in the Bronzeville neighborhood.

The Fire Department responded to the crash at in the 4200 block of South King Drive shortly before 10 a.m.

An employee at a nearby dry cleaners said a police SUV was heading south on King Drive when it swerved to avoid another vehicle, and hit a school bus turning north onto King.

Police said an officer was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The school bus driver and a bus attendant were taken to Mercy Hospital & Medical Center, also with minor injuries.

No children were hurt in the crash, and the students were safely taken to school after the crash.
