Justice Man Charged For Biting Off Piece Of Another Man's Ear

JUSTICE, IL. (CBS) --A 28-year-old man from Justice has been charged for biting a piece of another man's ear off during a domestic dispute, according the Cook County Sheriff's office.

The Sheriff's office alleges that Richard Vody forced his way into a residence on the 200 block of Walnut in unincorporated Justice and got into an argument with the victim, a 26-year-old from Westchester.

After the argument, Vody leaned into the victim and bit off about half of his right ear, according to the Sheriff's office. The victim's girlfriend was present and lives in the residence. All three knew each other.

The victim was taken to an area hospital by Roberts Park firefighters. The missing part of his ear was located with the help of Cook County Sheriff's and Chicago Police canine units.

Vody, of the 7800 block of Garden Lane, was charged with one count of home invasion, one count of aggravated battery, and one count of domestic battery. His bond was set at $250,000.

Vody is next scheduled to appear in court on April 23.
