Video: Kyle Long Opens Up About Substance Abuse Issues, Recovery

(CBS) Kyle Long's road to the NFL wasn't easy, to say the least.

Coming out of high school, he was drafted by the White Sox in the 23rd round of the 2008 MLB Draft. Instead of turning pro, Long decided to enroll at Florida State University to play baseball.

On Jan. 3, 2009, however, Long's life changed forever when he was arrested for a DUI. After the arrest, he left Florida State and spent four months in a substance abuse treatment facility in Arizona.

Upon completing his substance abuse treatment, Long enrolled in a junior college before receiving a scholarship to Oregon.

On Thursday night, he was selected by the Bears with the 20th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Check out this video as Long talks about his road to recovery.
